Dive deep into the spiritual and historical core of India by exploring aspects of Hinduism, Buddhism and Tantra. Enjoy visits to the Taj Mahal, the famous tantric temples at Khujaraho, and several major sites surrounding Buddha's life. Visit children at an orphanage and watch the Hindu tradition of cremation and bathing in the Ganges. Yoga will be led by Vinyasa yoga teacher Holbrook Newman. Lodging is in upscale hotels and lodges.

Day 1: Arrive Delhi. Day 2: Delhi - Wander through the chaos of the Old City including the Spice Market and Red Fort. See where Gandhi walked his final footsteps before his assassination. Eat a South Indian meal before dozing off to rest. Day 3: Delhi to Bodghaya - Practice yoga at lovely Lodhi Gardens. See the precursor to the Taj, Humayun's Tomb. Shop in the artsy district Hauz Kauz Village before boarding an overnight train to Bodghaya. Day 4: Bodghaya - Visit Mahabodhi Temple which depicts the various phases of Buddha's journey towards enlightenment, the Bodhgaya Archaeological Museum and Jagannath Temple Day 5: Bodghaya - Full day excursion of the Buddhist sites, Rajgir and Nalanda. Day 6: Bodhgaya to Varanasi - After morning yoga and breakfast, drive 5 hours to Varanasi via Sarnath. Sarnath, the buried Buddhist city where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Visit the ruins, the stupa, the Buddhist temple and the museum. Day 7: Varanasi - Eat a hearty breakfast before heading off in a bike rickshaw to Hanuman's Temple. See how the world famous silks are made wtih a local Muslim family. Day 8: Varanasi - Float down the Ganges at sunrise watching the locals bathe in the holy water. Visit children at a local orphanage. Day 9: Varanasi to Khujaraho - After morning yoga and breakfast, fly to Khajuraho. Enjoy nature and rest at an upscale lodge. Day 10: Khujaraho - Explore the famous Tantric temples. Day 11: Khujaraho - Search for tigers and elephants on an exciting wildlife jeep safari. Day 12: Khujaraho to Agra - Drive from Khajuraho to Jhansi via the ruins in Orchha (4 hours) followed by an express train journey from Jhansi to Agra (3.5 hours). Arrival in Agra in the evening in time for pizza and a glass of wine. Day 13: Agra - After morning yoga and a delicious breakfast, visit a marble factory to learn about the process of making inlayed marble. Visit the Agra Fort where the Emperer Shaw Jahan was imprisoned for 8 years by his son. Shop for jewelry before relaxing by the pool. Day 14: Agra to USA - At sunrise, marvel at the incredible Taj Mahal. Take a train back to Delhi (3 hours) and continue home to USA.
