This amazing adventure will explore the many cultural and spiritual facets of India...from the tropical South, to the desert of Rajasthan, to the sacred Hindu city of Varanasi and finally to the Himalayan mountains and the heart of Dalai Lama country. Immerse yourself in the spiritual essence of India and learn why yoga, meditation and ayurveda could only have come from such a unqiue country.
Desiree will lead daily yoga classes before the day's activities unfold. We will stay at a variety of accommodations including mid-range hotels, a heritage hotel, a houseboat and a guesthouse.

Itinerary ~ South
Day 1: Arrive Cochin, Kerala (anytime). * Day 2: Sightseeing Cochin * Day 3: Cochin to Allepey. Overnight backwaters * Day 4: Allepey to Paradisa Plantation. In the morning drive to Paradisa Plantation (2 hrs) * Day 5: Paradisa Plantation * Day 6: Paradisa to Chennai. 3 hours to Cochin to catch a 5pm flight to Chennai * Day 7: Chennai to Pondicherry (1 hr) via Mahalabalipuram * Day 8: Pondicherry * Day 9: Morning drive Pondicherry to Tiruvannamalai (2 hrs) * Day 10: Tiruvannamalai * Day 11: Tiruvannamali to USA (if only doing South portion) or continue on to New Delhi

Desiree Rumbaugh teaches from the experiences of more than two decades of practice. She was one of the first students to study with John Friend, and one of the first to be certified in his Anusara method of yoga. As a full-time teacher, Desiree travels the world offering workshops, which are innovative and transformative, challenging and compassionate.
She has a well-earned reputation for deepening the most new to the most seasoned practices, through humor balanced with a quest for authenticity. Her newest DVD entitled Yoga to the Rescue for Back Pain was released in January 2008 with wide acclaim. Desiree is also a contributor to various organizations and publications, including the Yoga Journal, where she was featured on the February 2008 cover.
