Seva, or selfless service, is an integral part of yoga and every Redback trip includes helping those in need. Projects with children include group yoga classes, painting, garden work, cooking, games and singing. Other project include providing villages with clean water, education, sanitation and building maintenance.

We work with and donate a portion of our profits to the following schools and foundations:

The Ganga Valley School • Rishikesh, India
Helps underprivileged children who might otherwise work as porters, rickshaw drivers, etc.

Asian Women and Children’s Center • Bangalore, India
Provides healthcare, food and an education through college for underprivileged Muslim girls.

The Rainbow Center • Urubamba, Peru
Teaches 40 special needs children whose parents cannot provide for them.

Shanta Foundation • Burma/Myanmar
Enhances basic quality of life in 8 remote villages (schools, healthcare, clean water, education).

Living Yoga • Portland, OR

Redback Travels is committed to preserving the environment. We try to set an example when traveling in hopes of altering the mindset of people in developing countries.

Some of our practices include:

•    Use local guides and family run operations to support the local economy.

•     Provide our guests with reusable grocery bags and
stainless steel water bottles to minimize plastic.

•     Redback Travels started the Ganges River Clean-Up Program in Rishikesh. The Dalai Lama blessed this program in 2010.

•     Travel in groups to avoid using extra fuel.

•     Limit the use of printed materials to save paper. Print all collateral on recycled paper.
