If you are looking for the ultimate outdoor spiritual adventure in the mighty Himalayas, this is your trip! We'll begin with a week long yoga intensive at Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh. From there we'll head to the far north to a small rural village known as Pahalgam, or The Shepherd's Valley. Take a walking tour of the village and venture on a short river raft trip. From here, the amazing 7 day trek begins. Each day will start with an invigorating morning yoga session followed by 4-6 hours of hiking to breathtaking glaciers, waterfalls and lakes. The trek loops back to Pahalgam where we'll embark on a gorgeous two day jeep trip to Leh, the enchanted capital city of Ladakh. There we'll explore various Buddhist monasteries and immerse ourselves in Buddhist culture with a 3 day Buddhist workshop with a high ranking Lama. Finally, fly back to Delhi to visit Gandhi's assassination site and do any last minute shopping before heading home.

Physical Requirements

Trekking at Altitude
Due to the altitude, mountainous trekking and morning yoga classes, it will be a physically challenging trip. We will not be hiking with any weight but will be hiking consistently over a 7 day period so make sure to walk several days in a row as part of your training. We will be camping at each place for 2 nights so there will be opportunities to take a rest day if necessary. Make sure you BREAK IN YOUR BOOTS/SHOES PRIOR TO THE TRIP!
